Falling Cylinder Viscometer

The falling cylinder viscometer is used to measure the viscosity of liquid carbon dioxide solutions. The device uses a linear velocity displacement transducer to track the position and velocity of a magnetically permeable sinker as it falls through a hermetically sealed high-pressure tube. Viscosity is determined using a calibration curve that relates the terminal velocity of the sinker, the density of the sinker, the density of fluid, and the viscosity of the fluid.
