Hello, my name is Ruben Carbonell, and I am the co-Director of the NSF Science and Technology Center for Environmentally Responsible Solvents and Processes. I want to welcome you to this site that contains a tour of our laboratories, together with a brief description of all the major equipment in our facilities at Georgia Institute of Technology, North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, North Carolina State University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and University of Texas at Austin.

Our research is carried out by teams of chemists, chemical engineers and materials scientists from the various universities participating in the NSF Center, in collaboration with industrial members. Our laboratories are uniquely equipped to help industrial partners launch research programs in supercritical fluids, as well as to assist in augmenting proprietary research programs within their corporate R&D laboratories. The basic research funded by the NSF Science and Technology Center is a great complement to the more applied research being done with industrial support.

This site will give you an introduction to our laboratories. As always, please let us know if you have any questions about anything you see on this site. We are always glad to be of help.
